Social Research Association blog and Material Methods chat

As the network’s activities develop, it’s really exciting to be making connections with other researchers and organisations and sharing stories of participatory textile making.

A couple of weeks ago, we (Emma and Amy) wrote a guest post for the Social Research Association blog, outlining seven key characteristics of participatory textile making activities and seven challenges that researchers may encounter when using these activities as a means of inquiry.

This was closely followed by the release of a video conversation with Sophie Woodward about participatory textile making as an approach to research. The video is the second episode of an “In Conversation” series that focuses upon the emerging field of material methods for the National Centre for Research Methods.

Many thanks to all those involved for helping us to share the work of Stitching Together!
