A Stitching Together network extension is on the horizon!
It is wonderful to have so many of you interested in the work we are doing with the network, and, as we have said before, we wish we could invite everyone to our events. Although the AHRC network grant is enabling a lot of good work, sadly, it doesn’t stretch quite that far.
However, clever and committed people always find a way….. Stitching Together network member Alison Mayne, based in Scotland, is generously hosting an informal network ‘branch’ meet-up in Edinburgh on Thursday 18th July 2019 from 4-6pm. If you are based in Scotland, and would like to meet other Stitching Together researchers and practitioners, come along. Bring 1 or 2 items which will help you tell us about your research over a cuppa or a bite.
Alison is holding the informal meet-up at:
Spoon 6a Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9DH
(Venue is accessible, with wheelchair platform stairlift)
If you want to come to Edinburgh for the day, Alison is happy to meet you from the station and show you round the textile delights of the National Museum of Scotland and Dovecot Studio.
Please let Alison know if you would like to join her for the meet-up, and/or a visit to the museum and studio. You can contact her here.
* Please note this is an informal meet-up. There is no funding available for travel or expenses, but it would be lovely to see you if you can come.
